A home with personality
on Jan 8, 2016Though an open floor plan or built-in storage space may be the most functional features of
the home that make everyday life easier, they are not necessarily the features that
distinguish your house from someone else’s. Sometimes the features within a home that
reflect you most, are the ones that aren’t so functional. Small details within the home like a
mural painting in the kitchen, or a custom built playroom for the kids are often the aspects
we love most about our homes.
There are many ways to customize a home to reflect your personal interests and tastes.
There are a few things to consider before choosing a customized feature for your home
however. First, consider does the feature you want to include reflect a lifelong passion or a
phase? The only permanent features you include in your home should reflect passions
you’ve had most of your life, not something you recently got interested in. You wouldn’t
want to build a custom tennis court in the backyard for instance, if you just learned to play.
Another question to consider is: will you get sick of this feature? You wouldn’t want to bring
in an artist to paint a mural on the wall, if you know that you regularly like to update the
décor within your home. At the end of the day when it comes to custom features, you really
want to weigh your options before making a decision.
Whether you go with a custom mural, a soundproof music room, or light installation,
these unique features in your home are what will give it character. At Live Well
Custom Homes we want to help make your house the home of your dreams. We are
open to your ideas and will do anything we can to make that happen.
