Searching for a Home that Fits Just Righton Nov 20, 2015
Buying your first home can be daunting. There are so many details to consider. But as with anything- you just have to start somewhere.
I find that with searching for one’s first home you should take a funnel approach- starting with the broad and narrowing down to specifics. A great place to begin is a simple search on the internet. Where do you want to buy? What is your budget? What are you looking for a home? All of these questions can be sufficiently answered with some brain storming and internet research. Before you consult with your real estate agent you definitely want to prepare a list (whether mental or written down) of your “needs, wants, and definitely DON’T wants.” Obviously if you are purchasing your home with someone else your lists may differ- you may want to decide on your cohesive list before beginning to search for your home. You will need to compromise! But you will love your new home when it is a reflection of the both of you. When looking at homes be sure to communicate with your agent about the likes and dislikes you have about homes you visit. Be honest. At the same time- don’t over think about a home that you may really love! If a home feels right, it probably is. You don’t want to waste your time and energy looking at 20 more homes if you’ve already found “the one.” At Live Well Custom Homes we are here to assist you every step of the buying experience. Do not hesitate to ask us questions whether you are a first time home buyer or an experienced buyer.
